- Get 1 cup whole wheat flour
- Get 5 tbsp ghee
- Get 3/4 cup Grated jaggery
- Take 1/4 tsp cardamon powder
- Make ready 1 tbsp edible gaund (gum) Stir fried in hot ghee
- Prepare 1 tbsp chopped almonds
- Take 1 tbsp chopped pistachios
Gud Papdi is an easy to make sweet from the Gujarati cuisine. It is made with minimum ingredients that are easily available in every kitchen. Start with roasting wheat flour for making the papdi. Leave some ghee and add the rest into the pan.
Steps to make Gud papdi (Sukhadi):
- Melt ghee in a non stick pan.
- Add whole wheat flour and saute for 15 minutes in a slow flame till it turns golden brown in colour stirring continously.
- Remove from flame.
- Add jaggery and cardamon powder and mix well.
- Add stir fried edible gum and mix well.
- Stir well till the jaggery melts and the mixture is mixed well.
- Add chopped almonds and chopped pistachios.
- Pour the mixture in a greased thali and spread it with the Base of a small bowl.
- Cut into square pieces while still warm.
- Garnish with chopped Almonds and pistachios.
- Store in an air tight container.
- Enjoy
