  3. Get 1/4 cup lotus seeds roasted(optional)
  4. Get 4 Cups Milk
  5. Make ready 4 Tbsp Sugar
  6. Prepare 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
  7. Get as needed almonds and cashewnuts chopped
  8. Take as needed sliced almonds,cashewnuts,saffron and pistachios to garnish

Add the sabudana to the milk and cook, stirring, till the sabudana is fully cooked and the kheer thickened. To make Sabudana Kheer, you will need washed sabudana seeds which are soaked in water overnight. It is perfectly rich and creamy sweet with deliciously irresistible flavors! This makhane ki kheer is mostly prepared during Hindu fasting like Navratri vrat (upvas).

Instructions to make Sabudana –makhana kheer:
  1. Wash Sabudana in water and drain. Soak Sabudana in water for 2 hours.It will absorb almost all the water and the size will increase.
  2. .Heat the milk in a heavy bottomed pan over medium flame.
  3. When milk comes to boil add lotus seeds powder, roasted lotus seeds and cook on low flame stirring constantaly for 5 minutes
  4. Add chopped almonds and cashewnuts.
  5. Add soaked Sabudana.Cook them until they turn transparent and soft for around 5-8 minutes, make sure to stir continuously.
  6. Add sugar to it & let Stir continuously and cook until milk turns thick. It will take approx. 5 minutes.
  7. Turn off the flame and transfer prepared Sabudana-makhana Kheer to a serving bowls.
  8. Garnish it with sliced almonds,cashewnuts,saffron and pistachios and serve warm or chilled.
