Rasam can be made in two ways - with rasam powder and without rasam powder. You can replace my rasam powder with store bought rasam powder too. This can be made with few variations too, which I always do. Hot rasam, hot rice plus ghee - heavenly combination.

Steps to make Rasam:
  1. Heat oil in a cooking pan. Add Red Chill and Tomatoes.
  2. Saute well until tomatoes become like puree.
  3. In a mixer jar add garlic, peppercorns and cumin seeds. Grind them without adding water.
  4. Now add the mixture into tomatoes. Saute until it blends.
  5. Now add 2 cups of water, a pinch of turmeric powder and salt as per taste and Coriander leaves
  6. Let it come to 1 boil. Your Rasam is ready. Serve with Rice.
