- Make sure that you have half boiled the potatoes by adding some salt into it. Otherwise you won't get any salt in the potato pieces while having it.
- Heat some oil in a wok and add the green cardamom, cloves and cinnamon. Saute it for a while until the aroma comes out.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and a little bit of salt. Saute it very well till the tomatoes become soft and the juices comes out of it.
- Add the ginger paste. Saute it well till the oil separates.
- Add the poppy seeds paste. Saute it well till the raw smell dissapears.
- Add the green chillies paste. Saute it well.
- Add the potatoes and mix them very well for a while. If you want to make it more spicy you may add more green chillies paste.
- Add some water and bring it to boil. Add the salt for the gravy. Cover it with a lid.
- After 5-10min check whether the potatoes has become soft. If yes, add the sugar. Let it be sweetish.
- Add ghee and garam masala powder and mix it well.
- Remove it from the flame. You may add some coriander leaves if you love the flavour at this time.
- Serve hot with puris.
