  1. Take 6-8 Pearl onions
  2. Make ready 1-2 Tomato medium sized
  3. Prepare 2 tbsp Lime juice or as per taste
  4. Make ready 3-4 Garlic cloves cloves
  5. Make ready Some Curry leaves
  6. Get Some Coriander leaves
  7. Take 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  8. Take 2-3 spoons Pepper Powder
  9. Make ready 1 spoons Coriander Powder
  10. Make ready 1 spoon Cumin Powder
  11. Get 2 Beetles leaves
  12. Take 2 tbsp sesame oil (prefer cold pressed oil)

Steps to make Beetle leaves Rasam:
  1. Wash the beetle leaves and grind them. Add some coriander leaves and water if the mixer doesn't help grinding with two leaves.. :)
  2. Slice the onions in half and smash the garlic cloves using the knife. Chop the tomatoes and keep them ready.
  3. Heat the kadai and add oil. Once the oil is heated, add cumin seeds. After cumin seeds have spluttered, add garlic cloves and saute.
  4. Once the garlic has been sauteed enough add onions and saute. Curry leaves can be added at this point with onions. Then add tomatoes and saute till smooth. We can add little salt to get the onions and tomatoes cooked faster.
  5. Now it's time to add our aromatic beetle leaves mixture in the kadhai. Add enough water so as to get 2-3 servings.
  6. While the mixture is getting cooked, add pepper powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and mix well. Don't forget to add salt.
  7. Let the rasam cook well. Garnish with enough coriander leaves and switch off the stove. Now add the lemon juice and change the rasam to another vessel. Our healthy aromatic Rasam is ready to be served with white rice, any other millet rice varieties and also just as a soup.
  8. If you see, this rasam doesn't have tamarind, mustard seeds, turmeric powder or any kind of chillies added to it. Hence this can be taken by anyone in the house.
