  7. Take 2 tomato chopped
  8. Prepare 1 tsp Coriander leaves
  9. Get 1/2 tsp turmeric powder,mustard
  10. Take as needed Water

Rasam can be made in two ways - with rasam powder and without rasam powder. You can replace my rasam powder with store bought rasam powder too. This can be made with few variations too, which I always do. Hot rasam, hot rice plus ghee - heavenly combination.

Steps to make Rasam:
  1. Soak 1lemon sized tamarind in 1 cup warm water 30 mint.later squeeze the soaked tamarind to a pulp.strain and keep aside
  2. In dry grinder cumin seeds,black pepper and 5-6 chopped garlic to semi-fine consistency.heat 2 tbsp oil and temper with 1 tsp mustard, 2 dry chilli
  3. Add 1 medium sized chopped tomato saute till the tomatoes.then add the semi coarsely groud cumin seeds garlic 1/2 tsb turmeric powder.
  4. Stir and add the strained tamarind pulp along with water and salt.let the rasam come to a gentle boil.
  5. Switch off the flame and add 2 tsb chopped coriander leaves.stir and serve the rasam hot with steamed rice
