  2. Take 3 green chillies
  3. Take 1 tsp turmeric

  6. Prepare 2 sprigs curry leaf
  7. Get 5 garlic cloves
  8. Make ready 3 red chillies

  12. Take 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  13. Prepare 4 tsps ghee
  14. Get 2 tbsps salt

This fragrant tamarind and lentil soup is slowly simmered with a variety of vegetables such as eggplants. Pappu charu is a staple in Andhra household and goes very well with Rice. Steps to make Pappu chaaru:
  1. Wash the dal. Take 2 cups of water.
  2. Add green chillies, turmeric, tomatoes. Cook it in pressure cooker for 3 whistles on low flame
  3. Soak tamarind in water. Squeeze the juice right before step 5
  4. Cut onions, chillies, peel garlic
  5. Sieve the dal.
  6. Heat bowl with ghee
  7. Add cumin, mustard seeds, red chillies, curry leaf, garlic, onion at 15 second intervals.
  8. Add lentil soup.
  9. Add tamarind juice. Add salt, and chilli powder. Boil on medium flame for 10 minutes.
  10. Add coriander. Bring it to a boil and turn it off.
