- Make ready 1/2 cup raw rice

Neer dosa is also known as "paan polo / soyi polo" in the konkan region of India. Neer dose basically means "watery dosa "in Kannada. The watery consistency of the batter is what behind the name is. So dosas come out very thin ,light,lacy and crisp at the edges and soft in the middle.
Instructions to make Neer dosa my version:
- Soak idly rice and raw rice together for atleast 4 hours.
- Blend the soaked rice in blender to a smooth batter adding enough water.
- Finally add the grated coconut to the batter and give it a pulse. This is step is totally optinal but the coconut gives a very good taste and flavour to your dosa.
- Transfer the batter to the bowl and add salt. Mix the batter well and add more water if required. The batter should be in runny consistency as rava dosa batter.
- Heat the dosa tawa on high flame and pour the batter on the tawa starting from outside to inside as we do for rava dosa. Fill the gaps.
- Close the dosa with a lid immediately otherwise dosa will develop cracks on the corners.
- Cook the dosa on medium flame for 1 minute and open the lid. Don't flip the dosa. Take the dosa to the serving plate.
- Finally the dosa can enjoyed with a flavourful sambar, Tomato chutney or coconut chutney of your choice.
