- Take 1 Big Size Onion
- Get as needed Cashew Nuts
- Prepare 1/2 tsp Poppy Seeds
- Make ready 3 Tomatoes

- Make ready 1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
- Get 1/4 tsp Whole Jeera
- Get Pinch asafoetida

- Take 1 tsp Kasuri Methi
- Make ready 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- Prepare 1 Spoon Red Chilli Powder

- Take 2 tbsp Fresh cream
- Prepare 1 tbsp Fresh coriander
Our dum aloo recipe is also called Punjabi dum aloo. Chilli-coated potatoes in dum aloo curry are cooked with cream, tomatoes and a flavourful paste of whole spices and onions. Dum Aloo or Aloo Dum, a rich and special dish in Kashmiri Cuisine and also in Punjabi Cuisine. The baby potatoes are first deep fried, then cooked slowly at low flame in a gravy with spices.
Instructions to make Dum Aloo:
- Take 8-10 Small Baby Potatoes and boil for 2-5 minutes after peeling skin.Fry it and keep aside.
- Take a big size onion and chop it and add to it a few cashew nuts and 1/2 tsp Poppy Seeds and grind it in a Mixy.
- Take 3 tomato and chop it and grind in Mixy to make tomato puree.
- Now take 2 tbsp Oil and heat it and add Mustard Seeds and Whole jeera,hing and then add 1/2 tbsp Garlic Paste,1 tsp Ginger Paste and now add the onion paste.
- Cook till the oil rise.Now add 1 tsp Kasuri Methi,1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder,1 spoon Red Chilli Powder,1 tsp Dhaniya Powder,1 tsp Garam Masala Powder and mix it.
- Now add tomato puree to it.Cook for a round 5 minutes till the gravy is cooked.
- Now add the fried potato in it and mix again.
- Cook for some time.Finally add about 2 Spoon of Fresh Cream and stir it nicely.
- Add Fresh Coriander and mix nicely.Garnish with Fresh Cream and Fresh Coriander.Now it's ready.Alter as per taste.
