  6. Take 4-5 tbsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  7. Take 2 cups yoghurt or curd
  8. Get 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  9. Get as per taste Salt
  10. Get 1 cup water
  11. Prepare 1-2 tsp garam masala
  12. Make ready 1 tsp kasuri methi

Our dum aloo recipe is also called Punjabi dum aloo. Chilli-coated potatoes in dum aloo curry are cooked with cream, tomatoes and a flavourful paste of whole spices and onions. Dum Aloo or Aloo Dum, a rich and special dish in Kashmiri Cuisine and also in Punjabi Cuisine. The baby potatoes are first deep fried, then cooked slowly at low flame in a gravy with spices.

Steps to make Dum Aloo:
  1. Put baby potatoes, salt & water in a pressure Cooker. Make 1 whistle.
  2. Cool the cooker. Drain the water, peel the potatoes & poke it with toothpick.
  3. Fry the potatoes on medium flame until golden brown.
  4. Take 2 cups yoghurt or curd in a bowl. Add 4 tbsp kashmiri red chilli powder & salt into it. Mix it well with whisker.
  5. Take 2 tbsp oil in a pan or kadhai add hing, coariander powder, red chilli powder, kashmiri red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste & water mix it well. Now add curd mixture, salt mix it well.
  6. Cook 10 minutes while continuously stirring. Add fried potatoes & garam masala into it. Mix it well.
  7. Cook & cover it for 10 minutes.sprinkle some kasuri methi.
  8. Now it's ready. Serves hot with chapati or naaan or bhakris. ๐Ÿ™‚
