- Make ready 1 cup corn flour
- Prepare 4 cups water
- Get 6 tbsp ghee(clarified butter)
- Make ready 2 and a half cup sugar
- Prepare 1 cup water for sugar syrup
Steps to make Bombay/Karachi Halwa:
- Mix cornflour in 4cups of water whisk nicely and keep aside
- In a pan take 2 and half cups of sugar add 1cup of water, on medium flame,let sugar dissolve and boil
- Now add cornflour mixture to this slowly on low flame keep stirring,
- When this becomes glossy add 2tbsp of ghee keep stirring, after 10 minutes add again 2tbsp of ghee keep stirring untill it becomes super glossy.
- Now shift half of the mixture to a separate pan on low flame, add different desired food colour to both the pans, add 1tbsp of ghee to each pan continue stirring
- When ghee starts releasing pour both two different coloured mixture to two different greased trays
- Let it cool for 30 minutes cut both different colour halwa in to square pieces
- Arrange one above the other garnish with walnuts or any nuts of your choice.
