Steps to make Lesuni dal palang:
- Pre-soak the dal overnight and boil it. Make onion paste.
- In a kadhai add mustard oil when it becomes hot add 1 tbsp of shahi jeera, bay leaf, pinch of hing and some sugar
- Then add the onion paste fry it. Then add one by one the ginger garlic paste, chopped green chiles and tomatoes. Mix them all and let it fry.
- Then add one by one the dried masala, 1 teaspoon of dhaniya, jeera, turmeric and red Chile powder and little salt. Now cool till oil comes out of the masala.
- Now add the chopped spinach to it.
- Let the spinach cook and mix with the masala. Cover and cook for 4-5 mins.
- Now add the dal. Mix it well.
- Now add some water, salt to taste and some coriander leaves and let it cook for 10 min by covering it. Add garam masala powder
- Now for the tempering. In an khadi add butter. Then add dried red chiles, 2 teaspoons of whole jeera powder and the chopped garlic. Fry it till brown.
- Now pour this on the dal. Garnish it with coriander leaves. Serve it with roti or paratha
