The ingredients needed to make Aam Podo:
- Take 1 cup rice
- Get 1/2 cup black gram (urad dal)
- Take 1/2 cup sugar

- Make ready 2 tbsp ghee
- Get 1/2 tsp soda bicarbonate (or 1 tsp baking powder)
- Make ready 1/2 tsp dry ginger powder

- Get 5 raisin
- Take 2 clove crushed
- Take 1/2 cup scrape coconut
- Take Few sliced coconut for decorations
Steps to make Aam Podo:
- Wash and soak the urad dal and rice for 5 hours then grind it like fine paste just like idly batter. To this paste add one by one ingredients - like coconut scrape, salt to taste, sugar, chopped mango, ghee, crushed clove and dry ginger. Mix well and keep it aside for 15 minutes. Pre heat the oven.
- Grease an oven proof dish. After 15 minutes, add soda bicarbonate (or baking powder) in the batter, mix it well. Immediately pour the batter into the oven proof dish, decorate it with mango slices, coconut slices, cashews and raisins on the top. Bake at 180 F for about 35 minutes. After 35 minutes, keep the mould on standby for 10 minutes inside the oven.
- Allow it cool down sufficiently and then demould it. Cut the Aam(Mango) Podo to your desired shape and serve.
