Steps to make Veg mix dal:
  1. First, boil the dal in pressure cooker (make sure that the dal has been cooked well).
  2. Then, in a kadai, heat 1 tbsp of ghee and saute 1 tsp of cumin, 2 pods of cardamon, 1 tej patta and 1 dried red chilli.
  3. Also add 1 tsp ginger paste and a pinch of hung. Then, saute well.
  4. Now add 1/4 tsp of turmeric, 1 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of cumin powder, 1/2 tsp of coriander powder and 1/2 tsp of mirch powder with some water, and mix well.
  5. For few minutes saute all the masala and then, add the boiled dal. Also, add 1 cup of water.
  6. Cover it and let it be cooked for 5 minutes till the dal absorbs all the flavour.
  7. Now add 1/4 tsp of garam masala and 1/2 tsp of sugar, and mix well.
  8. Finally, serve the Veg Mix Dal with rice or chapattis.
