- Keep a fry pan in the stove. Switch on the flame. Add oil, garlic,onions and dry red chillies. Fry it in medium flame until raw smell goes off. Do not burn.
- Cool the mixture completely. Add tamarind extract and salt,grind it to a smooth paste. If you want add little water for the consistency. Transfer to a bowl.
- Place a tadka pan in the stove. Switch on the flame. Add the ingredients given for tempering. Fry it and add it to the chutney. Mix it.
- Chutney is ready to serve with idlis and dosas.
