- Prepare 2 medium sized tomatoes

This is my mother's recipe.she always used to prepare tomato chutney with unripe tomatoes in. Pudina chutney or pudina pachadi posted here is along with a video procedure. It is usually referred to as tomato pudina pachadi as we add tomatoes into the pachadi. I got this tomato mint chutney recipe (thakkali pudina chutney) from Mrs.
Instructions to make Pudina tomoto chutney:
- Wash and chop the tomatoes. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadai and add the green chillies, garlic pods. Saute it for few minutes. Then add the tomatoes. Cook for few minutes till tomatoes turn soft.
- Then add the mint leaves. Saute for few seconds till the leaves shrink. Then add the tamarind pulp. Cook till the tomatoes and mint leaves get soft. Turn off the stove and let the mixture get cool.
- In a pan dry roast the cumin seeds, coriander seeds, peanuts, sesame seeds, coconut till nice aroma comes from them. Cool them and blend into fine powder.
- In a blender jar add the prepared tomatoes mint mixture and blend to smooth paste. Then add the prepared powder, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric to it and blend again using required quantity of water to make fine chutney.
- For tempering the chutney add oil in a kadai and heat it. Then add the cumin seeds, mustard seeds, dried red chilli and allow them to splutter. Put this tempering into the chutney.
